New tool belts for our young builders
Early Start Discovery Space has received a donation from local company Buckaroo leather works in the form of handmade leather child sized tool belts – a welcomed addition to the Construction Site experience where children role play being builders to construct a home.
The tool belts are 100% Australian made, ethically manufactured onsite right here in the Illawarra. Each tool belt has been handmade and designed especially for children – so it’s the perfect size and fit and is essentially a downsized version of a real tradie tool belt.
Tanya Van Der Water, Bucakroo CEO said “we wanted to align with a business that shares our company values of collaboration, innovation, creativity and fun”.
The Construction Site experience is great for developing children’s collaboration and cooperation skills, and building and construction provides the perfect backdrop for learning the concepts of measurement, space and weight.
“This will really enhance the experience for children, having access to real, high quality materials to assist in their learning and play” said Martha Johnson, Education and Experience manager, Early Start Discovery Space.
Research = Experiences
Play is one of the most powerful ways to learn. That’s why all our experiences are informed by early childhood researchers from UOW.
