Research
The Discovery Space is a unique learning environment where all our experiences are backed by research.
The brightest minds
Just above all the fun of the Discovery Space is the world of Early Start Research – the brightest minds investigating areas of children’s learning, health and development.
Their work guides and influences all educational aspects of the Discovery Space, ensuring our play-based experiences are grounded in evidence and beneficial to children’s development. Their research also has transformational impact on the lives of children and families in Australia and across the world through both policy and practice.
But we don’t like keeping our researchers locked upstairs and are always looking at ways of sharing their knowledge with you, including:
- Speaker Series
Large seminars covering topical areas, including self-regulation, anxiety, technology and health. See what Events we have planned. - Helpful articles and advice
Visit our blog to hear from our researchers. - Group workshops
Smaller workshops for parents and carers covering areas like school readiness. See what Events we have planned. - Research opportunities
Get involved with our research and help make a difference.
Early Start also facilitates onsite psychology services through the UOW Northfields Clinic @ Early Start
Our aim is to make a difference in the real world with our researchers working directly with communities to investigate real life family challenges.
