You helped make play more accessible
This festive season, Early Start Discovery Space encouraged members and visitors to support their Christmas Giving Tree and help make play accessible to all. And we are pleased to announce a total of $1,720 was raised to support Barnardos Australia, SCARF and Family Services Illawarra – bringing purposeful play to vulnerable children and families to help break the cycle of disadvantage.
Early Start would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who supported this initiative. Every bit counts, and these donations will help us continue sharing the power of play for all!
Matt Ball, Community & Volunteer Coordinator, Early Start Discovery Space said “thank you to everyone who donated, our partner organisations are absolutely thrilled with the generosity displayed. This will have a real positive impact for local disadvantaged families”.
Families in need will have access to day visits and annual memberships, plus a variety of initiatives, including support programs, playgroups, education on healthy eating, building child/parent attachment, virtual excursions and lots more.
84 children in need will receive a pass to visit the Early Start Discovery Space
10 families will be able to visit to the Discovery Space together
20 carers and children will be given an annual membership.
These passes will be divided equally between the three charities.
Research = Experiences
Play is one of the most powerful ways to learn. That’s why all our experiences are informed by early childhood researchers from UOW.
